Are your pupils amazingly creative? We’ve outgrown the name Big Pedal and need something that includes walking, scooting, using a wheelchair and cycling. Could your pupils help?
The winning school will have their idea used on all the Big Pedal materials in 2022 and beyond! Additionally, all participating schools will be entered into a prize draw to win a fantastic prize- a demonstration from Extreme Mountain Bike Show.
Enter the re-naming challenge by 7th May 2021 to be in with a chance of winning. Submit your idea using the form below.
Only registered schools can submit entries to the re-naming competition and only one entry per school will be accepted.
As a school, you will need to decide which name you’ll submit. Why not create a buzz around the selection process – think about how to involve all pupils and how your school will choose which name to submit.
The new name will be used in all our materials and publicity, from t-shirts to banners, the website to posters and of course the brand new logo. There’ll be a rigorous judging process including an expert panel and a public vote.
Ideas on how to structure a lesson around this re-naming competition can be found in our Day 6 (Amazingly Creative) and Day 10 (Amazing Possibilities) lesson plans. Find the primary school resources here and the secondary school resources here, and the intro video below.
Once you’ve got a great name, submit it using the form below to be in with a chance of it being selected as the new name for Sustrans Big Pedal. You will be able to submit entries using this form from 9am on 19 April until midday on 7 May 2021. One of the entries, chosen at random, will win a fabulous prize from Extreme Mountain Bike Show.
Entries should be no more than four words (excluding Sustrans) and can be in English or Welsh. Ideas should be: concise, multi-modal and unique.
Entries will only be accepted from registered schools using the form above and entries will not be accepted by email. Read more in the day 6 primary or secondary resources and the re-naming competition terms and conditions.
